We offer daily hot air balloon rides for guests on a breathtaking aerial tours over medieval Trakai. Our experienced pilots will guide you gently close to the Island Castle, lakes and forests, allowing unique bird ‘s-eye view of the stunning landscape below. Flying up to 2000 feet above the earth will indulge from views.

During your 1-hour hot air balloon ride you ‘ll have an opportunity to see the town of Trakai and its surrounding areas that you never have before. Situated over few islands the city looks amazing from above. You will glide effortlessly over lakes and forests, taking peaks into the wilderness and natural formations.

This is a shared balloon ride with other guests joining the group. In difference from our competitors, we offer only small and cozy groups, which makes the experience way more personal.

If you’re looking for the best hot air balloon rides, sunrise is always the way to go. Sunrise flights are amazing. The winds are calm and sun rays hitting the lake water as you lift off from the launch site. It’s a beautiful sight, super fun, and a great experience for people who are early risers or want the best hot air ballooning experience. Families with kids and older adults in their group will love a sunrise flight.

All our tours include the pickup and return service from your hotel or apartments. We are flexible and can arrange different spots for meeting or return – as for example we can meet you in Trakai and after the flight drop back to Vilnius. The duration of experience lasts around 3 hours from meeting till return.

Our hot air balloon rides are more than just a sightseeing tour – this is the adventure you will never forget. Soaring through the skies, nothing but excitement and exhilaration of flight with just the wind and sun.

Helping with the setup and takedown of the hot air balloon isn’t required, but we find many guests enjoy being involved in the process of inflation and pack-up.

Tip for Trakai – combine hot air balloon experience with visiting the castle and town! Join us for morning experience after which we will drop you directly to the Trakai city center so you can explore the city by your own. Easy return to Vilnius using bus or train. Also if you are spending the day in Trakai – we can arrange pickup directly there and after the evening flight drop you back to Vilnius.

How do I pay for the experience?

We do not ask for credit card details during the booking process to avoid dealing with refunds in case flight is cancelled due to the weather. You are welcome to pay by cash or card just after the experience is finished.

What happens if the weather is poor?

You’ll be glad to know that our hot air balloon pilots are weather gurus. Since balloon pilots only use the wind for steering, it’s not possible to fly if the winds are too fast or going in a poor direction. If your balloon ride is canceled due to weather conditions - you’ll have the opportunity to reschedule.

What should I wear?

There is common myth surrounding hot air balloons what it will be very cold outside. The fact is that temperature drops only 6 degrees in the altitude of 1000 meters (3000 ft). It get's warmer from sun and the burners, so the same clothes as you would normally wear in current day conditions will fit perfectly. Although we do recommend comfortable shoes to walk on grass.

Why is the balloon ride flight time so early in the morning?

Sunrise in June-July can be pretty early. The good news is there are spectacular views from a balloon at sunrise. Close to sunrise is when the wind speed on the surface is slowest. If you aren’t an early riser, you can always select a sunset balloon ride. We meet about 3 hours prior to sunset for those balloon rides.

How will we get back from our hot air balloon ride reaching our landing spot?

During our flight experienced ground crew will chase balloon, meeting us on the landing spot, where after the packing and celebrating give guests a courtesy shuttle back to the town.

What is our company safety record? Has it ever had an issue or accident?

Balloon.LT is proud to have a perfect safety record. The main reason we’ve been able to keep this perfect safety record is we have experienced pilots who won’t fly in marginal or poor weather conditions. Our number 1 priority is the safety of our passengers and crew.
